Tears for Fears live in Manila was awesome! Thank you Roland and Curt for doing us such an honor. If I had a choice, I’d invite them back for an encore. There were so many songs that could still be sung, like the Working Hour, The Way You Are, Last Days on Earth, Famous Last Words, Advice for the Young at Heart, Change, Elemental, Goodnight Song, Power. Thanks for playing the songs from “Everybody Loves a Happy Ending” my favorite album! I hope you are working on new songs as well. The Philippines totally dig TFF ! It’s so cool that Curt sang “Seven of Sundays”, and even the European only song “Floating Down the River” was a great upbeat song. Can’t wait for iTunes to open in the Philippines.
well it took you guys a while to get here! darn i’m 37 years old now and i’ve been listening and singing your music since i was 10! had you gone during the 80′s i’m pretty sure the big dome would not have been able to accommodate all the fans you got here, including me
anyway thanks very much…. better late than never so they say… and now that you know how much you are loved here in the PH maybe you can do a few more
i missed the may 2 concert in manila. i will not miss the next one, that’s for sure. say there will be a next one!
Please note that this is not the official Tears For Fears page but an unofficial fan site.
I will be going to the concert in Charlotte. I am so pumped. Saw Curt Smith w/ Mayfield in Omaha over 10 years ago. Does the crowd sing to every song on the playlist?!?!
Is there a DVD or an audio recording we could buy/download of this show ?
Thanks
André (Rivière-du-loup,Québec)
I missed this long waited concert of TFF ,sadly im here in japan and my planned vacation is this coming September how sad am i …. Though i always watch them in youtube but huh its better to see them in live perfomance . Any plans for a comeback concert in PH or even here in japan ?
Well, I hate to say it but that setlist is a HUGE letdown. I was so excited for TFF (one of my favorite bands) to play US dates again but we get the same songs from the last tour. Just seems to me that they are being lazy and don’t feel like rehearsing some of their finest songs. I have tix and will be selling unless they change it up for the US run. How about Working Hour, The Way You Are, I Believe, Advice FTYAH, Change, Tears Roll Down, etc. Seriously…you can scrap most of that setlist and include these.
Saw TFF in Lockport/Buffalo last night (8/13). Weather was perfect (around 75 degrees and a slight breeze), crowd was loud and appreciative and the band thanked everybody (several thousand floks) from Buffalo, Lockport and Canada for showing up.
The setlist from Manila was almost exactly what we saw. The changes: no Closest Thing or Raoul. In the encore, Curt told us that the previous night, they added a song they “hadn’t played in 20 years and we’re going to play it again until we get it right” – Advice for the Young at Heart.
Phenomenal show. Saw them last on the Seeds of Love tour with Oleta Adams. TFF were fantastic 20 years ago and are even better now. If you have the chance, get tickets and see them live.
Saw them at Casino Rama in Orillia, a city north of Toronto, on 8-14-2010. TFF hangover for sure! I’m glad they included Advice for the Young at Heart. Like Jason(previous poster) said, the set list could be better. On the bright side, they came to Canada and I got enjoy their music LIVE!
Thanks Chris. Hopefully they repeat Advice in Boston tonight. I’ll post the set list as best I can remember it tomorrow (not gonna take notes). Glad Advice was added, but would like to hear Raoul as well. Gonna educate myself on Everyone Loves…on the way to the show. Have to admit I have not heard that CD, but reviews I have read today sound great.
They left in Advice in the set list in Boston. Floating down the river was moved to first encore song before closing with Shout. Closest thing to heaven was out, as was Raoul. Don’t recall Quiet Ones either. Other than that, looks like the Manila list.
I saw Tears for Fears at Chastain Park last night in Atlanta. The place was half full. My brother and I got last minute tickets below face right beside the stage, on the aisle. Great seats but I soon found out why they were so easy to get. Wainwright came out and played a few acoustic diddy. That’s kewl. Then Arrested Development came out with a ton of energy. There were like 10-12 people on the stage, including the old man sitting in the rocking chair chillin’. If you were there you know what I’m talking about. Anyway, they gave a great show. Sounded great. In tune. Did a remix of Tennessee. Then Tears for Fears came out. Curt Smith, the gray-blond guy, still has a great voice. But he doesn’t look as cool as the other guy (I can’t remember his name). Anyway, the other guys voice really didn’t sound that good. They also have a backup vocalists who’s presence was way appreciated. I guarantee if you lost the backup guy it would have sounded a lot worse. Anyway, they knew they needed him and that’s why he was there. The other problem was the band didn’t sound in time several times during the show. I remember thinking to myself this kind of sucks. Granted Chastain’s system is terrible and the music carries way into the night. Would have sounded better if it was inside. But for the most part had a good time. They’ve got about 5 or 6 hits that are classics. And to top it off my brother saw a girl I was engaged to like 5 years ago. I guess the theme of the night was things change but concertgoers are always looking for that song that takes them back.
when r u coming back to the philippines? we never had d chance 2 witness ur concert cause we r busy preparing 4 d may 2010 national elections. hope ul come back 4 another tour in our country. please. pls include mothers talk and badmans song in ur list of song 2 be played… more power! shout!
This is not the official site. As of now there is no official Tears for Fears site available.
This is not the official site of the band and contacting us will not put you in touch with Tears for Fears.
Unfortunatley we are not associated with the band and only the band can answer that question.
Hope you find out though.
Not too sure. Maybe they were ill informed…
