“Sowing the Seeds of Love” is song by the British group Tears for Fears that came out in 1989. The song reached the #1 spot on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart, #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and #5 in the UK. It was the first and major hit from their 1989 album The Seeds of Love, also reaching the Top 5 in Netherlands, Ireland, New Zealand, and Italy, and the Top 20 in a lot of other countries. The song is notable for being an imitation of The Beatles. The music video, won two awards at the MTV Music Video Awards – Best Breakthrough Video and Best Special Effects, it was directed by Jim Blashfield.
The song was re-recorded in 2007 by Rick Parfitt Jr. as the title music for Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton’s dating show; Holly & Fearne Go Dating, which aired on UK commercial channel ITV1 in September 2007.
