“Falling Down” is a single released from the 1995 album Raoul and the Kings of Spain by Tears for Fears. It was released as a single in the US, Brazil, Mexico, and some European countries, but not the UK.

Raoul and the Kings of Spain was Tears for Fears fifth album. Like the previous album, Elemental, it is fundamentally a solo effort by Roland Orzabal. The album was initially scheduled to be released by Mercury records but the project was cancelled after Tears For Fears left the label to sign with Sony/Epic Records. Sony released a new version of the album featuring a different track listing and new cover art in 1995.

The album reached the spot of  #41 in the UK charts and #79 in the US charts.

The album features a return by Oleta Adams, who duets with Orzabal on the track “Me and My Big Ideas”

The album was re-released in August 2009 by Cherry Pop Records, complete with seven bonus tracks

Raoul and the Kings of Pain –

is first single from the album. At the time it was released, the single reached #31 in the UK and became the band’s last Top 40 hit there for ten years (until 2005’s “Closest Thing to Heaven”). The single was not released in the United States.

The track was first performed two years before its release, on the band’s 1993 “Elemental” World Tour.

However, the seven tracks were included on the 2009 re-release of the “Raoul” album by Cherry Pop Records.

Here below are a more tracks from Tears for Fears 4th album Elemental, released on June 7, 1993. This followed the album from the band entitled The Seeds of Love  which was released in 1989. This seem like a solo album of Roland Orzabal after Curt Smith left the band.

“Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams” is a song by Tears for Fears, initially appearing as the B-side to their 1990 single “Advice for the Young at Heart”. The song was later on remixed by producer/DJ Fluke and released as a single in 1991. It became a number-one hit in the UK Dance Chart, while reaching number 70 on the UK Singles Chart.

Although still a Tears for Fears track, the Fluke remix single was credited only as “Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams”.

The songs title is taken from a short story written by the American writer Sylvia Plath, which was the title story in a collection of her short stories posthumously published in 1977.

Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith have been inflexible in their dislike for the song in the years following its release, Orzabal stated, “the point we realized we had to change direction”, while Smith was even more straight in proclaiming it “the worst thing we’ve done”.

“Ashes to Ashes” is a single released in 1980 by David Bowie. It reached  #1 in the UK and was the first cut from the Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) album, which was also a #1 hit. As well as its musical character, it is well known for its groundbreaking video, directed by Bowie and David Mallet. The lyrics revisit Bowie’s Major Tom character from “Space Oddity”, which he referenced once again in 1996 with “Hallo Space boy”. Bowie stated that with “Ashes to Ashes” he was, “wrapping up the seventies really for myself, and that seemed a good enough epitaph for it”.

• This album came out before the re-mastered TFF albums, which had many of the B-sides, added. It is indistinct if the tracks on Saturnine are re-mastered or not.

• The version of “Johnny Panic”, which is included the track is not the original B-side version, but the remix produced by Fluke, it was released as a single in 1991 in its own right. The original can be heard on the B-side of “Advice For The Young At Heart” and also on the re-mastered The Seeds Of Love CD.

• “Ashes to Ashes” is from the NME charity album Ruby Trax.

• Even though this album was released after Raoul and the Kings of Spain, it contains none of the B-sides from that album as Tears for Fears had switched record labels by that time.

• The included version of “Tears Roll Down” is the original B-side from 1989, not the later “Laid So Low” version from 1992.
